The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has issued fresh licences to additional insurance companies that have met and verified compliance with the minimum capital requirements under the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Agenda (NIIRA 2025).

The commission said the development marks another milestone in its ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the financial stability, credibility and professionalism of Nigeria’s insurance industry.

Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, urged the newly licensed companies to make prudent and effective use of their capital to drive sustainable growth and enhance protection for policyholders.

He also charged the firms to abandon unethical practices and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance, transparency and accountability.
