The National Pension Commission has opened registration for its free healthcare initiative, PenCare, targeted at low-income retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
In a statement, PenCom said retirees aged 60 years and above who earn monthly pensions of not more than N70,000 from Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) are eligible for the pilot phase of the programme.
The Commission disclosed that registration is open to 30,000 eligible retirees on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested retirees were advised to register through PenCom’s official website www.pencom.gov.ng or the websites of their respective PFAs.
PenCom described PenCare as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at reducing the burden of medical expenses and improving retirees’ well-being.
