The Office of the Tax Ombud and the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) have sealed a partnership aimed at boosting investor confidence and attracting more foreign direct investment (FDI) into Nigeria’s oil and gas free zones.
The collaboration, unveiled during a courtesy visit by Tax Ombud and Chief Executive, Dr. John Nwabueze, to OGFZA in Abuja, will focus on resolving tax, levy and regulatory fee disputes through mediation to create a more transparent and investor-friendly business environment.
Nwabueze said the partnership would strengthen tax administration in the free zones by providing an independent platform for handling complaints related to taxes, customs duties, excise matters and regulatory charges. He added that both agencies would also work together to clarify tax incentives, address recurring taxpayer concerns and improve accountability.
