The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of Takaful and microinsurance in Nigeria as part of efforts to deepen financial inclusion and extend insurance protection to underserved communities.
The Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, stated this when the Board and Management of Noor Takaful, led by its Chairman, Amb. Shuaibu Ahmad, paid a courtesy visit to the Commission.
Omosehin commended Noor Takaful for its progress as the company approaches its 10th anniversary, while urging its management to intensify efforts to expand its market reach, develop innovative products and improve public awareness of Takaful insurance.
He stressed the need for greater customer education and wider outreach, noting that Takaful could play an important role in making insurance more accessible to Nigerians, particularly those who remain underserved by the conventional insurance market.
The Commissioner also encouraged the company to be more ambitious in its efforts to grow the sector and build greater public understanding and confidence in Takaful products.
Both NAICOM and Noor Takaful expressed optimism about deepening their collaboration to promote trust, innovation and inclusive insurance solutions for Nigerians.
