As individuals and organizations, even governments, involved with the insurance industry in Nigeria, these are the things that keep us connected every week.
One thing though that no one dares to talk about is the other room of the insurance sector – investment!
We invest in insurance companies for one reason, to get dividends, and they invest in us for many reasons besides getting returns on their investments.
Generally, insurance companies use income from permissible investments to pay claims, to invest in unquoted businesses, to support social impact initiatives and to contribute towards the development of new technologies.
Yet, we will continue to focus on the regular issues – claims, renewals, new policies, regulatory actions and events because they define and redefine our experiences with the insurance industry.
Or what could you be looking forward to #ThisWeek? We’ll be happy to hear something new as we enter the last days of October and the newness of November.
