Although prices remained stable across markets in the nation’s capital, we observed a downward shift in markets in the North East.

For instance, prices in Tor Damisa market declined remarkably with a bag of rice going for N45,000, it was N55,000 the previous week. Maize declined to N40,000 from N42,000 while iron beans from N70,000 sold for N52,000 this weekend.

A bag of maize in Orange market, Nasarawa state and Wukari market, Taraba state sold this weekend at N58,000 while in Fido market Kaduna state, a bag sold for N50,000, we found Egusi at N55,000 per bag in same market.

Rice sold for N45,000 per bag in Orange market and 100 tubers of yam sold for N45,000 there too while same 100 pieces sold for N32,000 in Wukari. In Dutsen Alhaji market, Mama gold rice is selling for N46,000, Tomato rice N45,000 and Big bull N48,000 for each bag.

Beans is selling between N48,000-N52,000 per bag in Tor Damisa market; the price variation is between Iron Beans and the Local Beans.

Orange market has rice at N60,000 and if you want to buy onions in bulk, you might want to check Dei-Dei market as new bag goes for N30,000 and the old N48,000.
