Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has paid a visit to Arch. Sonny Ochono, the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
The visit was borne out of a desire to improve the educational system in Kaduna state by engaging in sustainable partnerships with Federal Government and her Agencies as well as Development Partners.
Governor Uba while commending the Executive Secretary for including Kaduna State in TETFUND interventions, seized the opportunity to highlight some of the areas in need of more support and intervention including 3 state-owned institutions to enable them to expand their programmes and cater to the rising number of students. The beneficiary institutions include: Kaduna State University (KASU), Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria and College of Education, Gidan Waya, Kafanchan.
Arch. Sonny Ochono, the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) said the agency has disbursed the sum of N550 million to the kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya to address insecurity, N500 million to the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for the completion of a project and the same amont was also given to the Kaduba State University (KASU) to complete some projects in the Kafanchan Campus.
The Executive Secretary commended the Kaduna State Government for prioritizing education and allocating prime land to the TETFUND for their North West zonal office and assured TETFUND will expedite action to complete outstanding projects in the state owned institutions facing problems.
